Stop Motion Animation Symbiosis
The Year 6's in Mr. Hort's and Mrs Wallace's classes created stop motion animations that described the 3 main types of symbiosis for Science. They used the Stop Motion app to develop their movie animations frame-by-frame using 'paper cut outs'. Other resources commonly used for Stop Motion animations included clay or 'claymation' and figurines such as Lego. The students developed a good conceptualisation of Mutualism, Comensalism and Parasitism through creating their stop motion videos.
Directing Cereals in Year 3
The students in Mrs Wood's and Mrs Potts class learned how to create a procedural video to teach others how to make cereal. After writing a procedure of the steps as a class they used iMovie app to record a short video of each step. Then they learned how to add title text to each video to help the viewer learn and they reviewed, selected and matched theme music to help make their video better at teaching to their audience.
Explaining Everything About Sunflowers in Year 3
The students in Mrs Murazsko's class continued their learning about Sunflowers by creating explanations with Explain Everything app that outlined the conditions needed for a sunflower to grow. They brainstormed and downloaded images to demonstrate how a sunflower will grow in a good, bad and medium growth environment. They learned how to lock an image as a background, use laser pointers to enhance their explanations to their audience and created 3 separates slides with voice recordings.
