Bringing a Convict Journey to Life

Students used a Google Advanced search to create characters in the story or child convict John Hudson.
The students in Mrs Muraszko's class explored using the Puppet Pals HD app to create a show of the journey of child convict John Hudson on the first fleet. The students learned how to locate Sydney on a map and that many historical sources about the first fleet are drawings and sketches. The students really empathised with John by creating their shows!

Reflecting on the Scitech Excursion in Year 3

Students imported images from a Google Advanced Search and pixabay.com search for the backdrop of their shows.
In Mrs Pott's Year 3 class the students created shows in Puppet Pals HD app that explained what they learned on their recent excursion to Scitech. Students outlined how they learned chemistry creates explosions and how the Planetarium helped them to learn the names of stars in the night sky.

Digital Coding in Year 3

The Year 3's in Mrs Pott's and Mrs Murazsko's class had their first experience coding on a computer. Progressing on from their unplugged coding experiences they enjoyed learning how to code a character to navigate a room. Their challenge was to use the features in Scratch Junior app to avoid bumping into things in a room.

eBooks Completed!



The Year 3's in Mrs Pott's and Mrs Muraszko's classes completed their eBooks about how to make paper recently. They were able to put them into Play mode to review and revise their work independently. Their target audience is the Year 1's and 2's.

Programming in Year 5


The Year 5's in Mrs Hooker's class learned how to block code for various purposes using Scratch Junior app. They programmed a character to make a basketball shot with a ball! They also started developing a programme for a tour bot where all the history of Australia's colonial states is explained to visitors to Australia.

Year 6 Movie Makers

This students added a picture as their opening scene for their Book Review movie.
The Year 6's in Mr Hort's class continued to develop their production and communication skills by learning the music and picture editing features of iMovie. They developed some persuasive reviews of Morris Gleitzman's 'Boy Overboard'.
