Programming Games in Year 6
The students in Mrs Wallace's class learned to build algorithms to create a 'dodgem' style challenge for their Year 3 buddies. First they learned to create several algorithms for a single character that interlinked. Then they applied these to create and run a programme with a theme about Space and Planets. Then the students edited and elaborated these to a theme that they know their buddy would like such as Mario Kart.

BeeBots Unplugged in Year 3
The students in Mrs Wood's class learned how to programme a friend to navigate a BeeBot mat. The mats were kindly provided by the Year 5's who had created them in a Design Technologies project. The Year 3's were clear communicators and provided specific instructions to their friends to build their Algorithm using the functions of programming a BeeBot. They will programme BeeBot's next to really text their programming skills.
Programming Descriptions of 2D Shapes
The Year 5's in Mrs Adam's class learned how to put together an algorithm of the steps needed to explain the main elements of a 2D shape. They used Scratch Junior app as their tool to do this and ran their programmes to see if they needed to change or 'de-bug' their algorithm. They will be presenting their descriptions to a Year 3 buddy and will look to do the same for 3D shapes next.

Reverse Engineering the Life Cycle of a Caterpillar
The Year 3's in Mrs Woods' class have been capturing the growth story of some caterpillars that were donated to the class. Since they arrived as adults the students have been observing their growth by taking pictures of them on a regular basis with the iPads. Also, they have researched the ways to take care of them. To summarize their observations the students learned how to create a Keynote presentation to write their observations and match it to their photo media. The presentation will be presented to other students to teach them about Caterpillars. The students really enjoyed using vocabulary such as 'our caterpillars' and taking ownership of the presentation.

Digital Coding in Year 3
The Year 3's in Mrs Pott's and Mrs Murazsko's class had their first experience coding on a computer. Progressing on from their unplugged coding experiences they enjoyed learning how to code a character to navigate a room. Their challenge was to use the features in Scratch Junior app to avoid bumping into things in a room.
eBooks Completed!
The Year 3's in Mrs Pott's and Mrs Muraszko's classes completed their eBooks about how to make paper recently. They were able to put them into Play mode to review and revise their work independently. Their target audience is the Year 1's and 2's.
Programming in Year 5
The Year 5's in Mrs Hooker's class learned how to block code for various purposes using Scratch Junior app. They programmed a character to make a basketball shot with a ball! They also started developing a programme for a tour bot where all the history of Australia's colonial states is explained to visitors to Australia.

Year 5 Movie Makers
The students in Mrs Hookers class learned how to produce and edit video using the Camera app. They compared different light sources and acoustic spaces for their video production. They explored trim (film cutting) and text for their video editing to produce a short 7 scene video in small groups. They students will next look at developing movies that immerse their persuasive writing skills.

Learning to Give Feedback
The Year 5's in Mrs Hooker's class used the Padlet app to access a Padlet wall created by Mrs Hooker to provide feeback to their friends. The students did a walk through of their Bee Bot mats they created as a Design and Technologies project and used feedback protocols to write their feedback statements to a friend about their mat. The students thoroughly enjoyed the ability to provide and receive feedback, with some eager to alter their designs based on this.
Using Padlet to Establish Prior Knowledge
The Year 3's in Mrs Wood's class used Padlet app to access Mrs Wood's Padlet wall - A KWL chart about solids, liquids and gases - as this is the topic they are studying in Science. The students were able to record what they Know about this topic and then use this to develop questions about what they Want to know as a whole class. After exploring and learning about the topic the students will be able to add what they have Learned to the same Padlet wall and reflect on how far they have progressed.
Planning Autobiographies with Digital Mind Maps
The Year 6's in Mr. Hort's class used the Simple Mind app to plan out their Autobiographies. After researching and writing Biographies of famous Australian's they found that they actually need to do research for their autobiography. Simple Mind enabled the student's to create and structure their key headings in a visual format that they found useful to their planning.

Movie Trailers to Communicate a Product
The Year 5 students in Mrs Hookers class continued their work using iMovie app to communicate the concept behind their Bee Bot Mat products they developed. They worked collaboratively to capture their video and photo media and edit it into a trailer in the app.

Communicating a Product
The students in Mrs Hooker's Year 5 class learned how to create a short expose of their Bee Bot mat creations using iMove app. They explored themes and genres to be able to match their own products theme. They then proceeded to create a presentation with photo and video media they had recorded on their iPads that outlined their 'Aha' moments and inspirations for their product.
Exploring Programming through Geography
The Year 3's in Mrs Stacey's class have been programming a journey through Australia's neighbours using the Scratch Junior app. They have been able to programme using direction and sound controls to synthesis their research of Australia's neighbours and create a journey that describes Australia's neighbours with reference to man-made and natural features.
Communicating to an Authentic Audience
The class will be uploading their creations to Connect to enable the presentation at assembly.

Design Phase
The Year 5 students in Mrs Cook's class continued to develop their Bee Bot mat designs using the Explain Everything app. They collaboratively determined the key headings for their explanation and created the designs prior to handling any materials. The students showed a great ability to view their own mat designs and themes from a consumers eyes through their design phase explanations.
Empathising in Year 6
Mr Hort's Year 6 HASS students used two different apps to try to empathise with those that live in different types of Governments than Australia's. Firstly, they compiled knowledge about different types of government by defining them. Then they conducted Google Advanced Search of the countries present and past, that have these types of governance and shared this out on a Padlet board. Finally, the students used Explain Everything app to label a world map and create a multi-slide explanation of what it would be like to live in this country under that type of governance.
Realistic Fiction in Year 6
Mrs Wallace's Year 6 students used learning technology to support their learning in Language Arts. They used their character and settings development book work to create visuals of them. Additionally, they conducted Google Advanced Searches of images for their characters and settings also. Finally, they created a narrative story and brought it to life using Puppet Pals HD app as a platform to synthesis all aspects of their story development.
Programming Starter Kit - Year 3
The Year 3 students in Mrs Wood's class used the Scratch Junior app to learn how to create and run a programme. They programmed and tested a character to make a shot on a basketball court using grids and their Maths skills to independently text their programmes.
Researching for Assembly
The Year 5 students in Mrs Adam's class have been inquiring about NAIDOC Week to inform their assembly presentation in Week 10. They used the Book Creator app comic strip templates to create highly visual posters to communicate their group based research using Google Advanced Search. They were able to extend their inquiry further by developing key words for further research as they created their posters using the app.

The Year 6 students in Mrs Wallace's class continued to develop their learning of natural disasters in Science by using the Explain Everything app. All students created an explanation using text, image import via Google Advanced search and auto rotate features in the app, to name a few.
The students will export their final products to their Science Book created using the Book Creator app.
Positives and Negatives

The students in Mrs Hooker's class completed their story development for their Year 3 reading buddies by creating their Puppet Pals HD narratives. All students were able to use their plans created in a Book Creator book, with many revising their stories and/or plans. Many collaborated with friends to complete them. Finally, many shared out their Books and Puppet Pals narratives to seek constructive feedback.

Close Up and Personal with Earth Science in Mrs Wallace's Science Class
The Year 6 students in Mrs Wallace's class recorded video explanations of their clay model demonstrations of tectonic plate Science. They learned the best way to take a video with an iPad, taking account of angles, light and noise.
After completing the video of their models demonstrating their understanding of convergence, divergence and transformation the students imported the videos into their Book Creator Science books. Finally, they shared out with their peers and practiced providing feedback as a critical friend.
