Programming Games in Year 6
The students in Mrs Wallace's class learned to build algorithms to create a 'dodgem' style challenge for their Year 3 buddies. First they learned to create several algorithms for a single character that interlinked. Then they applied these to create and run a programme with a theme about Space and Planets. Then the students edited and elaborated these to a theme that they know their buddy would like such as Mario Kart.

BeeBots Unplugged in Year 3
The students in Mrs Wood's class learned how to programme a friend to navigate a BeeBot mat. The mats were kindly provided by the Year 5's who had created them in a Design Technologies project. The Year 3's were clear communicators and provided specific instructions to their friends to build their Algorithm using the functions of programming a BeeBot. They will programme BeeBot's next to really text their programming skills.
Programming Descriptions of 2D Shapes
The Year 5's in Mrs Adam's class learned how to put together an algorithm of the steps needed to explain the main elements of a 2D shape. They used Scratch Junior app as their tool to do this and ran their programmes to see if they needed to change or 'de-bug' their algorithm. They will be presenting their descriptions to a Year 3 buddy and will look to do the same for 3D shapes next.
