Digital Formative Assessment in Mrs Wallace's Year 6 Science Class

The Year 6's in Mrs Wallace's Science class used their iPad devices to demonstrate their understanding of the concept of Animal Migration using a padlet board.
Teachers
To create a Padlet collaboration board first create an account at Padlet.com. Then create a padlet board on the topic of your choice (it is recommended to use the Grid format initially). Under the share tab either print or display the QR code to allow anyone on an iPad device to access your padlet board. When students gain access to your padlet board ensure that as a protocol of using the board they write their name where it says 'Title'. Otherwise the teacher will delete it.
After the task has been completed on the board it will always be able to be located the dashboard using your password. Further, it can be saved as either a PDF, image, link or emailed to others.
Students
Direct students to open the Padlet app. Then proceed as a guest. A prompt to scan QR code will appear. Then they can either scan the printed QR code or come to the projector screen and scan the QR code you have displayed. They will now be able to make contributions to the board as the teacher monitors. If the connection drops out, simply re-scan the QR code.
