The students in Mrs Muraszko's, Mrs Pott's and Mrs Wood's class learned how to create short fractions tutorials to teach others using the Stop Motion app.
Firstly, in their pairs (to save time and get clear pictures) the students cut out fractions from a whole with paper and used sticky notes to be their title screens. Then one of the partners held the iPad to get a clear and stable photo, while the other partner used the overlay slider to ensure that the next frame is overlaid as closely as possible to the previous frame for a smooth transition, kind of like a cartoon. The students used the sticky note 'titles' to help with this.
Then, the students took approx. 12 photos to put together as their stop motion movie. Finally, they recorded audio to align with their photo frames and complete the tutorial of fractions 1/2, 1/4, 1/8
